Training Jiu-Jitsu


At Acton Jiu-Jitsu we teach and train in the style of Jiu-Jitsu sanctioned by the Canadian Jiu-Jitsu Association - a direct descendant of Kodokan Judo Japan.

Our black belts are tested by the CJA grading board, providing a consistency and standardization of style and requirements with all CJA black belts.

Our club schedules are as follows:

Mon. 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. - teen progam with Acton High School

Tues. 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. – juniors class
Tues. 8:00 – 9:30 p.m. – adults class

Wed. 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. teen program with Acton High School

Thurs. 6:30 – 7:30 – juniors class
Thurs. 8:00 – 9:00 p.m. adults class

Sat: 10:15 – 11:15 a.m. juniors class
Sat: 11:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. adults class

Bishop Reding Secondary School, Tues and Thurs 3:15 - 4:15 p.m

Self defense classes, as part of the physical Education curriculum,
are offered at the following high schools:

Competition:

We train competitively with the rules of the CJA for Continuous Sparring and for Jiu-Jitsu Grappling for both adults and children.

Continuous sparring competition for juniors involves earning points for kicks, punches, throws and holddowns. Continuous sparring competition for adults involves earning points for kicks, punches, throws and grappling to submission.

Grappling competiton for juniors involves earning points for throws and takedowns and hold-downs.
